The GoPro Fusion is a new 360 Camera that shoots in 5.2K Resolution
Today GoPro announced their newest camera called the GoPro Fusion. It’s a 360 camera that shoots in 5.2K resolution. Their release video proves that GoPro has found a new way to fully immerse viewers into their already epic content. The footage can be used for virtual reality in addition to non-VR video and photography.
To create a 360 video with GoPro cameras previously, you needed a device that held 6 GoPro cameras together in a ball shape, so this new camera changes everything. It also allows you to capture content from every angle, and then select your composition after wards. Here’s how Jess Foley at GoPro puts it:
GoPro hasn’t released additional details like price or other specs except that they expect to be launching by the end of 2017. In the meantime, they have invited creators to apply to their pilot program here.
