360 Degrees of National Monuments threatened by Trump

Last month Donald Trump ordered the Department of the Interior to review 27 National Monuments designated since 1996, which means that hundreds of thousands of acres including wildlife habitat and Native American ruins are at risk of losing their protections.

These monuments were previously supported by lawmakers on both sides; including Bush, Obama and Clinton but are seen by Trump and anti-conservationists in congress as preventing the states from using the land to further commercial development.

Bears Ears is first on the chopping block despite the outrage Western tribes who pushed for the protected designation under the Obama administration.  Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke is expected to produce a recommendation regarding protections this month and a final report within 120 days.
